Get Out Of Pain And Unlock Free-Flowing Movement

(With One Simple Word)

That one word can help you have more trust in your body, more connection to it, and a more fulfilling relationship to yourself (and the world around you).

I know what you're thinking:

It must be a hell of a word, right?

You're probably a bit skeptical.

And for good reason.

Too many people out there promise miraculous results in the blink of an eye, and it's mostly BS.

And yet here we are.

I'm making a big promise, and you're curious to learn more.

(Or at least see if I'm out of my mind)

After all if one word could have that much impact, that means...

  • You'd be able to find more mobility and fluidity in your movement.

  • You could feel more grounded and connected to your body than ever before.

  • You'd finally understand the "physical stuff" that helps you breathe, work, play, train, and practice.

That's huge.

You only get one body, right?

For better or worse you’re going to have it for the rest of your life.

And if one word could impact it so much, doesn’t it make sense to figure it out?

Wouldn’t Your Life Be Better If You Understood Your Body?

For most of us that’s obvious.

Of course it would.

You'd be crazy to think otherwise.

But most of us only ever scratch the surface.

We get overwhelmed by all of the conflicting information out there.

We stop trusting in our own ability to take care of ourselves.

We endlessly question our practice, asking:

  • What's the best way to train?

  • Am I doing this right?

  • Will this hurt me?

  • Should I focus on mobility or strength?

  • Does form matter or not?

It's natural to feel confused from time to time.

There's a good reason why the best coaches in the world have coaches of their own.

But movement has been around way longer than movement coaches.

Our bodies inherently know how to move... and move well!

If they didn’t, you and I wouldn’t be here now.  Our ancestors would have lost the evolutionary arms race a long time ago.

But you and I are here now.

That's a miracle.

It shows something potent about the body.

After all the human body has had millions of years’ worth of evolutionary tinkering behind it.

Who are we to outsmart that?

It turns out there's a way to tap into its built-in wisdom.

You can probably guess by now...

It comes down to that one word I mentioned before.

What's The One Word That Changes Everything About Your Movement?

I'll give you a hint: it's a preposition.

If you think back to when you studied grammar in school, you probably remember that a preposition is a word that describes a relationship between two nouns.  For example...

The movement coach sat on the floor.

He took the sourdough bread from the oven.

He drank all the coffee in the house.

That one little word makes sense of the relationship between those nouns.

So what does this have to do with your movement?

Say each of the following out loud and you'll see what I mean:

  • Movement is something I do to my body.

  • Movement is something I do for my body.

  • Movement is something I do with my body.

  • Movement is something I do through my body.

  • Movement is something I do within my body.

Those mean very different things, don't they?

Each implies a different relationship between you and your body.

Some turn your body into an object, treating it like a machine.

Some are more like a dance or a conversation with your body, a collaborative process.

If you had a say in the matter, which would you choose?

That one, little word changes everything about the intention you bring to your movement practice.  And that has direct consequences on how you feel and how you move.

I Learned It The Hard Way.

When I first discovered the world of movement, I fell hard.

I dove into barefoot running, yoga, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.

It was what I gave all my free time to, and it changed me in body, mind, and spirit.

But I ended up injuring myself over and over again.

And there's one, simple reason why...

It was something I was doing TO my body.

Here's what I mean:

I'd punish myself in the gym or on the mat.

Then I'd "smash" and "floss" and "stretch" my sore tissues afterwards to speed up recovery, so I could do it all over again.

I looked at my body like it was the thing keeping me from making the progress I wanted.

All the while, if it wasn't for my body I'd never be able to do those things in the first place.

It led to years of pain, tension, and frustration.

Not to mention a couple of visits to the hospital.

But I went through a shift.

It started with my discovery of somatic education, where I started to understand the intrinsic links between body and mind.  It continued when I worked with a body-oriented psychotherapist.

Gradually things fell into place.

I realized that I had a completely warped relationship with my body.

If I treated another person like I treated my body, I'd be locked up in prison.

That one insight changed everything for me.

I changed my entire approach to movement training and started making more progress in less time.  I picked up new skills with ease.  I improved my mobility and strength more than ever before.

More importantly, I felt whole and deeply connected.

I started to share this paradigm shift with my students around the world, and they felt a similar change in their own lives.

I struggled with a lot before coming to you...

I’d been in pain for so long that I had become incredibly depressed.

I believed that I may never be whole again to do all of the things I love.

All of these areas of my body and mind are getting increasingly better every day! Each day I grow increasingly more ecstatic that I’m able to do things with my knee and body that I didn’t believe deep down I’d be able to do again.

My confidence is growing every day.

— James Swantko

After years of stretching, releasing, and opening, I still had such limited mobility in certain areas of my body.

I figured I’d overstretched from all the yoga, and I felt a little betrayed by my practice.

Now I get it—that there were plenty of places in my body where I didn’t even have neural pathways established!

Your program is definitely unlike anything I’ve ever done, and I’ve worked with quite a few trainers and yoga teachers in the past.

I have so much more confidence in myself as a yoga teacher and personal trainer now.

I’ve learned so much... it feels like I’ve discovered the missing pieces in my experience with my body and my trainings as a yoga teacher and CPT.

What If You Could Actually Make Friends With Your Body?

Imagine what that would look like.

I mean, you do everything in life through your body.

That means you'd move with more ease, fluidity, and control.

And that's just the beginning.

You'd feel more centered, grounded, and supported because you physically would be.

You’d be free from the pain that sabotages so many people’s lives.

You'd have more trust in your body, more connection to it, and a more fulfilling relationship to yourself (and the world around you).

If that sounds like the kind of life you want to live, I've got good news.

I've put together a simple-to-follow online course to help you do just that.

It's no surprise that it's called "Make Friends With your Body."

It's a truly holistic approach to movement practice that explores the ongoing relationship between you and your body.

Let me walk you through how it works...

The whole course is broken down into easily digestible chunks that let you make consistent progress at your own pace.

Here's some of what you'll learn.

1. The Ripple Effect

We start by creating an understanding just how crucial this embodiment practice is.

You'll learn exactly why cultivating a relationship with your body affects more in your life than anything else.  Simply put: nothing else gives you more bang for your buck.

This module is all about demystifying the relationship with your body and showing you that there's nothing "woo woo" about it.

That way you're able to find a greater sense of presence and connection, not just in your body but throughout your life.

2. How To Cultivate Your Relationship (Strategies To Get Your Body On Your Side)

Your relationship to your body is just like any other.  Without care and deliberate attention, it's going to fall apart.

In this module you'll explore a unique perspective on movement practice that you won't find anywhere else.

It weaves together the threads of body awareness with psychology to create a big-picture understanding of what's going on with your body.

When you have this in place, you're able to identify exactly what your body needs in order to feel and function at its best.

So at 28% in I’ve realized that I’ve been feeding my own body in ways I’d never have fed my children.

I’m much better at taking care of other people than I am at taking care of myself, but your perspective shift has given me an inkling of how to shift that care to my own body.
— JZ
What you’re saying about treating your body as a friend, and what makes a good relationship, makes so much sense.

I realize that, all along, I’ve been expecting my body to heal from external damage and forces that it hasn’t necessarily evolved to recover from, quickly or naturally.

I’ve been asking so much, way too much.

Right now, I am grateful for what my body is resilient toward, and I feel more understanding of its needs, and what it’s been telling me all along... that it’s struggling despite my best efforts, and it’s okay if we need help to thrive.

This is all so good—it’s the clarity I needed. Thank you so much!
— SM

3. How To Learn The Language

This section is all about learning the language of the body.  You can be sure it doesn't speak English, German, or Mandarin ; )

It starts with the world's only systematic and empirically-tested metric of body awareness.

We use this as a way to identify blind spots in your practice and show you a clear path to develop more connection to your physical experience of the world.

Then you'll learn the most effective ways to start understanding the language of the body through a simple daily practice.  This practice gives your body the nourishing reset that it needs to eliminate the negative side effects of stress and get rid of unwanted tension.

This is REALLY GOOD! Thank you!

So interesting....

I’ve listened 4 times now.... and think it’s so in line with what I believe in... and practice.... that I could have wrote it.

(Could not have done the job you did, though!)

I’ve never heard anything that resonated so completely.  I can’t wait to explore further.

4. Moving With The Body In Mind (The Key To Pain-Free Movement)

After you start getting more familiar with your body's innate cues, you'll learn how to "speak" with it through your movement practice.

This module revolves around a dogma-free approach to movement.

We look to our evolutionary and developmental history for clues as to what's the most nourishing movement we can give ourselves.  Doing so will help you expand your daily practice to bring more movement into your day-to-day life, as well as take care of your specific mobility limitations.

This helps you remap dysfunctional movement habits so that you can move with more ease, no matter what your practice looks like: from hiking to yoga, lifting to dance.  The simple movements you'll learn in this lesson give you the tools you need to "get under the hood" and take care of any trouble spots you find in your body.  You'll know exactly how to handle joint pain and how to safely and sustainably increase your range of motion.

"Not only were the movements easier on my body, they provided results with much less time.  Amazing what can happen when you are taught how and why the body works and reacts.  **Mind officially blown!!**" - NF

"The improvement I've made has been quite profound...I have significantly less aches and pains now, and have a lot more range of motion in all my joints. I've never experienced such a transformation in all my life in such a short period of time." - PD

5. Expanding Your Horizons (Your Body’s Secret To Communication)

The final module of the course explores the fundamental ingredients of a good relationship.

This lesson alone will change the way you approach the rest of your life, but in particular it will shift how you view training entirely.

It shows how you can truly use movement to deepen your relationship with your body in order to discover what really works for you.  When you do that, you'll be able to chart your own course and find freedom in a practice that works for your body.

I just finished the lessons! And I’m enjoying seeing the crossovers and connections that are coming up in my mind.

This is a multi-disciplinary approach and the concepts go beyond actual movement, which is fun to consider.
